π§ STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
1οΈβ£ Identify Which Way the Door Has Dropped
Check if the door is rubbing at the bottom or not closing evenly. This will tell you which hinge or adjustment screw needs tightening.
2οΈβ£ Locate the Adjustment Screws
Most composite doors have three adjustment points per hinge β height, lateral, and compression. The height screw usually adjusts the vertical lift.
3οΈβ£ Adjust the Height
Insert your Allen key into the top hingeβs height adjustment screw and turn clockwise to raise the door slightly. Work in small turns and test the fit after each adjustment.
4οΈβ£ Adjust Side Alignment
If the door still catches on one side, use the lateral adjustment screw to move the door slightly left or right.
5οΈβ£ Test the Door
Close the door several times to check alignment. The latch should engage smoothly without resistance or gaps around the frame.
π‘ Pro Tip: Avoid over-tightening hinge screws β small, even adjustments across all hinges give the best results.
