π§ STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
1οΈβ£ Open the Door
Open the door so you can easily access the faceplate and cylinder fixing screw. Ensure the door remains stable throughout the process.
2οΈβ£ Remove the Fixing Screw
Locate the long screw in the middle of the door edge (level with the cylinder) and unscrew it completely.
3οΈβ£ Turn the Key to Align the Cam
Insert your key into the lock and turn it slightly until the cam aligns β this allows you to slide the cylinder out smoothly.
4οΈβ£ Slide Out the Old Cylinder
Gently pull the cylinder from the door using the key as leverage. If itβs tight, wiggle slightly while pulling outward.
5οΈβ£ Fit the New Cylinder
Insert your new cylinder, turn the key to align the cam again, and secure it with the fixing screw. Test both sides to ensure smooth locking and unlocking.
π‘ Pro Tip: Always check that your new cylinder is the correct length β it should sit flush with the handle, not stick out.
