HOW TO REPLACE A WINDOW LOCK MECHANISM

π§ STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
1οΈβ£ Remove the Handle and Cover Strip
Open the window fully and unscrew the handle. Remove any plastic cover strip hiding the mechanism screws.
2οΈβ£ Unscrew the Lock Mechanism
Locate the screws along the locking strip and remove them carefully. Keep them safe β you may reuse them later.
3οΈβ£ Slide Out the Old Lock
Pull the mechanism from the window frame channel. If itβs stuck, gently tap it loose using the screwdriver handle.
4οΈβ£ Measure the Lock Length
Measure the full metal strip end-to-end. Common lengths are 400 mm β 1200 mm. Match this size before fitting a new one.
5οΈβ£ Fit and Test the New Lock
Slide the new mechanism into the same slot, screw it securely, then test handle movement and locking points to ensure smooth engagement.
